I remember it like it was yesterday! People like Russell Brunson (and other professional digital marketers) sharing how they were getting online leads for $1... $1.50... Or even $2!

Or how they were getting thousands and millions of views across their ads for only hundreds of dollars.

Fast-forward to today and people are paying five times the amount (or more) just to get the same results - it's crazy.

But, why is it that getting attention and getting these results is more expensive?

Simple: saturation. With MILLIONS of voices online and tons more people spending money on ads, breaking through the noise is harder than ever. But don’t worry; it’s not impossible.

Here’s a fact: The entities with the most attention wield the most power. Think about influencers, viral brands, and industry leaders. Their common thread? They’ve mastered the art of capturing attention.

Here's a case study - Jimmy Donaldson AKA Mr. Beast (never heard of him? Just ask your kids who he is... You'll pick up real fast!).

Jimmy (Mr. Beast) started making videos out of his bedroom - most of them based around video games - such as Minecraft.

Overtime, through MANY videos and a lot of trial and error, he found what drew in his audience. He realized what it took to captivate and retain people's attention.

  3. The ability to collaborate with outside brands such as Shopify and other high-level companies.

And this doesn't even include monetization channels such as Google Adsense, his merch line, and many other avenues that bring in the money!

The point is... All of this was able to happen because of the simple fact that he has attention.

How do you capture this elusive attention? Now, you may not be able to do it at a scale like Mr. Beast, but here are some simple strategies you can use to start the process:

  1. Leverage Social Media & Organic Traffic As Much As Possible: Create engaging content that not only resonates with your audience, but is shareable. "What do you mean, Michael?" Create your content in a way where people are more likely to share it with their brother, cousin, or co-worker! Often times, that means creating content that is entertaining, bold, or different (more on that below). Last note: short-form content is one of the BEST ways to capture people's attention right now!

  2. Leverage Paid Traffic As Much As Possible: If possible, invest in targeted ads. It's not just about reaching people; it's about reaching the right people. Again, just like stated above, you want to find ways to create engaging ads that not only resonates with your audience, but stands out from your competitors. One person that does this tremendously well is Kristine Mirelle. She's known for viral ads that have captured attention of MILLIONS of viewers.

  3. Paid Partnerships: Collaborate with influencers and brands that align with your values and message. Make their attention become your attention. I truly believe that those who leverage partnerships and learn to utilize other people's audiences in 2024 and beyond will have the upper hand... And will have a faster road to success.

Like I mentioned above, the goal is to stand out... So here are some other additional tips you can use to capture the attention of the masses:

  1. Be Different: Challenge norms. Disrupt. Innovate. One example of this is the famous podcaster, "Bobbi". Bobbi Althoff is known for her quirky and often cringe-worthy podcast she hosts online, featuring celebrity icons such as Drake, Shaq, Jason Derulo, Mark Cuban and more. She's went CRAZY viral over the past 12-months because she's DIFFERENT. Now, I'm not saying you have to start a weird podcast or be as different as Bobbi is in her space, BUT what she's doing IS working. What can you learn from it?

  2. Be Vocal: Don't be afraid to share your opinions and to start new conversations. It's once you decide to get vocal that you'll often attract the audience you want (or reject the audience you don't want).

  3. Get Creative: Think outside the box in every campaign, post, or collaboration. Just because it's been done one way for the longest time, doesn't mean it always has to be done that way. How can you shake up what you're doing to get more eyeballs on your message?
