One winter, my friend Dalton and I embarked on what can only be described as a fast-food odyssey. Our quest? To camp out for 24 hours in a Chic-fil-A parking lot for a chance to win 52 free chicken sandwiches.

Now, before you question our sanity (or our eating habits), let me tell you - this story isn’t just about scoring some free grub. I want to dive into some of the biz strategies that I noticed while I was there.

We arrived on site with our cheap Walmart camping tent
 Some snacks
 and a few launch chairs. We quickly threw it all together in between two white lines in the empty parking lot.

As the night unfolded, and the temperatures dropped, something incredible happened. People from all walks of life joined us, forming a mini-community bound by the shared anticipation of a crazy-good reward. Despite the freezing cold, the energy was high and people were excited to be camping out in a parking lot (we are so weird in America).
